New: 2025 Video Submission- How to upload an Unlisted video to YouTube

Step 1: Access YouTube and Sign In 

  • Go to the YouTube website and log in to your Google account.

Step 2: Initiate Upload 

  • Click the "Upload video" button located in the top right corner, usually represented by a video camera icon.

Step 3: Select Your Video File 

  • Browse your computer to find the video file you want to upload and select it.

Step 4: Add Basic Details

  • Title the video: Student First & Last Name/Level/Category [For example: Jane Doe/Lv 8/Composition]

    Step 5: Set Privacy to "Unlisted" 

  • On the upload screen, navigate to the "Visibility" section.

  • Select "Unlisted" from the dropdown menu.

Step 6: Confirm and Upload 

  • Click "Save" or "Upload" to finalize your video settings and start the upload process.

Important Points to Remember:

  • Unlisted Videos are Not Searchable:

    An unlisted video will not appear in YouTube search results or on your channel unless someone has the direct link. 

  • Sharing Unlisted Videos:

    To share an unlisted video, simply copy the URL from the video page and send it to the people you want to be able to view it.

The following list contains sample pieces and composers for the different time periods. Please remember that this is only a suggested list. There are many choices for each category.

Baroque Period Pre-1750

JS Bach*, Henry Purcell, Francios Couperin, Jean-Phillipe Rameau, George Friedrich Handel, Domenico Scarlatti, Antonio Soler.

William Gillock Fanfare and Other Courtly Dances in Baroque Style. Gigues, Sarabandes, Allemnades, Minuets, Musettes by 20th century composers may fit the qualifications.

ClassicalPeriod 1750-1820

CPE Bach, Franz Joseph Hadyn, JC Bach, Muzio Clementi, Friedrich Kuhlau, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Leopold Mozart.

William Gillock Accent on Rhythm and Style- Sonatina in Classic Style. Classical Style arrangements in method books, i.e. Bastien, Noona, Alfred, Faber, etc., would be appropriate for beginning students.

Romantic Period 1820-1900

Franz Schubert, Felix Mendelssohn, Frederic Chopin, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms, Edward Grieg, Peter Tchaikovsky, Edward MacDowell, James Bastien, Prelude in Romantic Style

Contemporary Period 1900-present
